Whats New?

12/29/09  I took a little break from the web for the holidays.  I expect to be caught up on my emails by this Sunday.  We have some new litters!  Check them out on the babies page!

10/21/09  Due to complications with breeding rights on the Down Under line of rats I have been working with I have decided to discontinue the line.  I can provide any and all information to those that request it, but am not interested in posting about or dragging out this unfortunate situation.

9/8 I’m back!  I am working hard to get caught up on my emails.  I wanted to thank all of you that waited for me to return and get back with you.  This should be the extent of my traveling this year with exception to perhaps a weekend out and away from my computer.  I shouldn’t have any other reason to be absent.  ;P

I am happy to report that Yin had her litter today without any complications.  She is currently being a wonderful mom and the pups are doing very well.  Watch for photos of the litters in the next couple days.

As suspected Hocus Pocus has not put on any weight and I suspect that her breeding didn’t take with PH Slim Shady.  I will attempt the litter again; those of you already on the wait list do not need to contact me to get on the list again.  The existing list will carry over.

My attempt to breed Fun N Games and Rockstar didn’t work out well either.  Rockstar is a dwarf and seems to be having a bit of an issue with Games standard size.  I will attempt this litter again as well.

Because of the uncertainty of Hocus's and Game's litters I have decided to go ahead and breed PH Joyride's litter.  She was placed with PH Prime Time last night and if all goes well we should have some pups in a few weeks!  Stay tuned and contact me today to get on the wait list for this litter!  100% Agouti based rats, not the norm for my rattery so if these are colors you like dont delay.

8/19  Please be advised that I will not be available between Aug 28-Sept 5th. I will not be answering my emails at that time, please expect delays. If you are in need of food or hammocks please get with me asap so I can fill your orders and you are not out during that time.  If you need to pick up items this Saturday please let me know asap so we can schedule you.

In other fun news I would like to make a small announcement about some first times at the Rattery.  Early July we sent out our first shipment of ratties via airlines to Meghan at Paper Hearts Rattery in NJ.  Some of those guys went to Katie at Rat Pack Rattery in PA.  Everyone made it safe and sound and I couldn’t be happier about the entire thing.  We also sent out our first international shipment mid July.  We are proud to announce the successful transport of Dwarf and a handful of other ratties to Blanka in the Czech Republic.  Every rat that was shipped this year, in and out, made it safely with no complications!

7/5  Im back!  I had a wonderful time on vacation but am very glad to be back home.  I have been working on my email list and am not quite done.  Thank you for your patience.  I expect to be caught up Tuesday.  I have two litter announcements!  PH Joyride CMMR had a healthy litter of pups a few days before I left.  Looks like we have some very plump Agouti's and Cinnamon's in Rex and Standard coats.  All dumbos, all Berkshires.  CMMR Typhoon had her litter the day I left giving us a small but healthy litter of American Blue Dumbo pups.  Typhoons wait list is full but Joyrides wait list still has a few openings, email me today if you would like to adopt one of her little sweethearts.  Photos will be up in the next couple days.  Thanks again for you patience while I was away!  Thought I would share a one of my vacation photos...

6/30  Here are some photos of the new ratties!  So cute!

6/13  I will be unavailable from June 26th - July 4th.  I will not be able to respond to emails at that time.  Please keep that in mind and if you need any food or hammocks send me your order early so I can get it rolling before then.  Also we have two litters on the way!  Siamese in Black and Ruby eyes along with American Blue dumbos are expected!  Wait lists are still open, contact me today to get on the lists before they are full!

6/7  CMMR Has some new ratties!  We were so extremely pleased with the stock we received from Meghan at Paper Hearts Rattery last year that we arranged for our 2009 shipment to come from her.  Yesterday they arrived via airline and everyone is doing wonderful!  As expected I couldn't be happier with the guys she sent to me!  This shipment will provide healthy and beautiful benefits to my Siamese line along with some new stuff.  Thanks to Meghan we have some very nice ratties to start Harley and Hairless lines.  Check back in the next few days for photos!

6/3  The new camera is on order, Best Buy didnt have it in stock.  Expected by Wednesday next week but as early as Friday.  We needed a upgraded camera anways.  ;)

5/31  Did I mention that I am ready for this year to be over?  2009 had not been so kind to me, but hopefully all that is going to happen has.  I found my camera a couple days ago, snapped a photo of Yangs litter, and then went out to the lake yesterday.  Based on how my year has been so far I bet you guessed it but the camera does not do so well with water!  (Had some help with that, but we will not through anyone under the buss, lol.)  So its just time to pick up a new camera.  Plan on stopping tomorrow to pick one up.  At least we got a photo of the new litter though!!

5/20  We are finally done with the house remodel!  WOW that took alot more than I was wanting but its done and we are happy with the results!  Now all I need to do is catch up your your emails.  Please allow me a few more days to catch up.  I am done will all of April's (yes April's) and have made my way into May's.  Thanks so much to all of you that were so patient and understanding during this time!  I am excited to get things back to normal.  I am currently looking for my camera, it seems to be misplaced like everything else in my home was.  I might have to break down and purchase a new one but would rather just find the old one.  >:(  Will keep you posted.

4/27 CMMR IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION!  And not the website!  We are in the process of re-carpeting and wood flooring the house.  Before that madness starts we are on a mad dash to paint the interior and to be more specific, every wall in every room.  This was a last min opportunity for us and are very sorry for the lack of notice.  Please expect delays in my email responses.  If you have an urgent issue please mark your email urgent by stating so in the subject line.  I expect I will only be able to get to a handful of emails each night but will address those that are urgent at the same time.  Those that already have appointments will not be affected and I will keep those dates but keep in mind that till this is all done (in the next two weeks) it could be very messy!  lol  Thank you for understanding!

3/30  I wanted to say thank you to all of you that sent such kind words and wish's during my very difficult time last week.  It took a bit to get caught up on my emails and only have a few more left to address.  My web site is so out of date and I will be working on getting that updated this week.  Thank you so much to everyone that waited for me to return.  Your wonderful!

The January 2009 Photo Contest winners have been posted on our Yahoo group, The Colorado Rat.  I will be putting up photos in the next couple days.  Thanks to all that participated!

The Holiday season is coming to a close.  This December was a rough one here at CMMR.  I have been experiencing some difficulties with my laptop.  Its been near impossible to get photos to upload and my camera is getting older and starting to have a few problems of its own.  On top of all these problems I was struck with a nasty stomach flu!  While not all the symptoms have cleared up I am able to start to answer your questions and emails.  Sorry for any delay.  I have been very busy caring for the Rattery and our three litters.  Stop into the babies page to see new photos!  Hope everyone's Holiday was much much better than mine!

Babies are here!  PH Cover Girl had her babies 12/5 and so far everything looks to be going wonderfully!  This is our very first litter of Rex babies and are very excited to see how the coats come in.  Its been a while since we have had a marked litter so we are very excited to announce these guys!  Thank you Meghan of Paper Hearts Rattery for making it possible for us to work with such healthy happy Rex rats!

Those of you that are on PH Hot Topic x CMMR Quiet Riot's litter wait list already know the situation at hand but I wanted to update everyone.  This pairs breedings have thus far been unsuccessful.  We have been attempting this litter back to back since October with no luck.  I have not given up and will try this litter till January.  If Topic does not produce a litter by Feb we will stop all attempts on the litter.  I have continued on with my other planned breedings as scheduled.  In the event that Topic does conceive we will most likely have three litters at a time.  I am fully prepared to give the needed extra time to socialize all litters if this does take place.  I like to only have two litters at a time but due to the situation with this breeding there a chance we may have three.  If I decided to discontinue this breeding plan before January those of you on the wait list will be notified.  Let’s all keep our fingers and toes crossed that this litter can become a success!

CMMR Sweetest Thing's litter opened their eyes the other day and confirmed that CMMR's first litter of Black Eye Siamese pups are here.  We have never bred a litter of these beautiful little guys and are happy to announce their arrival was on Oct 22nd.  Fathered by PH King Tut, these pups are still young but should display a very laid back and sweet temperament.  Thank you Meghan at Paper Hearts Rattery for giving us the opportunity to work with these stunning Black Eye Siamese.  Check out video of the litter...

PH Charming has produced a first for CMMR!  Charmings litter produced our first American Blue Burmese who happens to be dumbo.  This litter is extremely outgoing and playful.  These American Blues will accomplish great things for the American Blue lines bred in my rattery.  Thank you Meghan this may not have been possible without your wonderful breeding stock!

Thank you to all of you that took a moment to take the poll about our new look.  For those of you that were happy and impressed about the change I have grown to love the change also.  I dont like change, so it took me a bit to adjust but now I love the look.  For those of you that said that the old look was a bit better Im glad you enjoyed it with me for years.  Its unfortunate that it couldnt have been brought back but we had to move forward.  I think that the new look is, and hope you all find, this new look professional and enjoyable.

CMMR Hot Wasabi & CMMR Ruger have made history!  They have produced Colorado's first born and bred Merle Dwarfs!  Not only are they Colorado's first born, they are NARR's first registered, making them possibly the first ever born Merle Dwarfs!

CMMR's 2008 shipment has arrived!  I have had the fortune and pleasure of  working with Meghan at Paper Hearts Rattery in New Jersey.  Her rats are a wonderful addition to my Rattery and will create genetic diversity while helping my lines where they are lacking.  These quality rats have awesome temperaments and great builds.  In addition to enhancing my current lines, she has sent me some stunning marked rats.  Blazes are back at CMMR!  After years of searching I have finally found healthy, beautiful, and sweet blazed rats.  I am honored to start breeding these varieties with Paper Hearts lines.  Blazes are not the only thing that is new.  For the first time we will be working with Black Eye Siamese, Masked, and Rex rats.  Meghan had a nice selection of these fine rats and has passed them on for me to work with. Thank you Meghan!

Mercedes and Black have made history!  Their litter produced Colorado's first born Burmese dwarf.  Not only was he the first born Burmese dwarf, he is a Wheaten Burmese making him Colorado's very first born and bred Wheaten Burmese!  Double wammie!  We don't get a lot of firsts here in our rattery so I am very proud to announce this achievement!
